FIREARMS APPLICATIONS AND PERMIT PROCEDURES
Firearms Applications can be picked up at Police
Headquarters or downloaded online by visiting the official website of the New Jersey
State Police at www.njsp.org. Locate and
click on "Services". A drop down box will appear and click on "Firearms
Information". Then click on "Forms to Download". Other line items in this section provide
information on a variety of topics pertaining to firearms.
Please note: The Police Department no
Longer fingerprints applicants for
initial firearms investigations. It is done by a Private Entity MorphoTrak. Please
contact (609) 397-5875 extension 10 for information on the location of the
nearest MorphoTrak facility and fee's associated.

Applications normally take approximately 6 weeks to complete.
